Role of Entophytic Microorganisms in Biocontrol of Plant Diseases
نویسنده
چکیده
Endophytic microorganisms are to be found in virtually every plant on earth. Endophytic microorganisms exist within the living tissues of most plant species and do so in a variety of relationships, ranging from symbiotic to slightly pathogenic. Root endophytic microorganisms are seen as promising alternatives to replace chemical pesticides and fertilizers in sustainable and organic agriculture systems. The capability of colonizing internal host tissues has made endophytes valuable for agriculture as a tool to improve crop performance. This association is often mutualistic: endophytes provide the plant with antagonism against diseases. Once inside the plant, an endophyte occupies a niche with relatively low competition from other microorganisms, provided the endophyte gets there first. Novel endophytes usually have associated with them novel secondary natural products and/or processes. Identifying, understanding and utilizing endophytes or its products to control of plant diseases and to enhance crop production are integral parts of sustainable agriculture. In this review, we addressed the major topics concerning the control of plant diseases by entophytic microorganisms mediated by specific metabolites of microbial origin. Whole genome shotgun sequence of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens TF28, a biocontrol entophytic bacterium
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens TF28 is a biocontrol endophytic bacterium that is capable of inhibition of a broad range of plant pathogenic fungi. The strain has the potential to be developed into a biocontrol agent for use in agriculture. Here we report the whole-genome shotgun sequence of the strain. The genome size of B. amyloliquefaciens TF28 is 3,987,635 bp which consists of 3754 protein-codin...

Fluorescent pseudomonads are an effective source of biological control that have high adaptive power and able to produce a wonderful source of secondary metabolites. Antibiotics such as phenazines, diacetylphloroglucinol, and hydrogen cyanide are produced by certain taxonomic groups of the genus Pseudomonas and appear to be ancestral. These compounds often play a physiological role in the produ...
متن کاملBiotechnological Aspects of Microorganisms Used in Plant Biological Control
The future of sustainable agriculture will increasingly rely on the integration of biotechnology with traditional agricultural practices. Most sustainable and environmentally acceptable control may be achieved using biocontrol agents due to the effort to reduce the use of agrochemicals and their residues in the environment and in food. Identifying, understanding and utilizing microorganisms or ...

The pesticides used to control pests and diseases are also implicated in ecological, environmental and human health hazards. To reduce the deleterious effects of these agrochemicals, certain antagonistic microorganisms have been characterised from rhizosphere of different crop plants that suppress various plant diseases and thus, minimise the use of pesticides. The application of these specific...

Bioassays are frequently used by plant pathologists for studies related to disease resistance. fungicides, nematicides, and biocontrol agents. Their use was perfected with the development of chemical control agents. Bioassays were standardized as a result of cooperation among individuals. committees, industry and professional societies. Bioassays for biocontrol of plant disease have not been ex...
